I just know that when I restarted, I got a nice, big fat boot failure error. This happens whether or not I attempt to boot from Disk1 or Disk2. When booting from Disk1, what specific error message do you get? Disk2 in its current state is not bootable, since dual boot has boot files for both XP and Vista on Disk1.

If fat 16 you can use NT Dual Boot to choose Win95/NT and 95 Dual boot to choose 95/Previous version of dos. The problem with dual booting is while NT's dual boot is very, very good, it only does boot sectors. The boot sectors look for files (typically, always with MS OS) in the root of the drive.

John: I just used Disk Probe via XP Pro and regedit in Vista SP1 on my dual boot computer to confirm the data value and its location in the MBR and in Vista's registry. I may run the fdisk /mbr via Win 98 SE floppy boot disk test again. Based on my previous test, I would not expect the disk signature to change.
